General FAQ
How long is the season?
All MSBS teams begin outdoor practices as soon as the fields are playable which is usually in early April.  For the competitive divisions (Major baseball, Minor baseball, Major softball and Minor softball) we may also hold indoor practices starting in mid-March.

Some MSBS teams start their regular season games the first Monday after April vacation and finish in mid-June, approximately when school gets out.  Major baseball starts a week to two weeks earlier.
For non-competitive divisions (T-Ball, Jr. Farm baseball, Farm baseball and Farm softball) this is the full extent of the MSBS season.

When are games played?
All divisions play regularly scheduled games Monday through Friday from 6:00pm to approximately 7:30pm. Competitive divisions (Major baseball, Minor baseball, Major softball and Minor softball) may have somescheduled games on weekends.
Rain-outs can be made-up on weekends; however we can sometimes find a week night slot.
On average teams will play twice a week. On occasion a team will only play once in a week or three times in a week.
When do teams practice?
All divisions, except T-Ball practice, have one practice a week on the weekends. The coaches are given a number of time slots to choose from. They generally communicate with their teams to find the best fit.

My child plays soccer. Are there a lot of conflicts with MSBS?
MSBS works closely with the Maynard and Stow soccer organizations to avoid conflicts when possible. For the non-competitive divisions (T-Ball, Jr. Farm baseball, Farm baseball, and Farm softball) there are very few, if any, conflicts. For a competitive divisions (Major baseball, Minor baseball, Major softball and Minor softball), there may be some conflicts depending on field availability and rain make-ups.
